Hey whats up? im finally here to put this blog thing together so that anyone whos interested can check out not only whats going on in my spiritual life, but also what Gods doing in Amazon region of Brazil.
ok so about the trip to the Amazon this last September. For starters it was the most amazing experiance of my life. Im so thanksful for all of you who supported me with your prayers and for all of your financial support. Thank You so much everyone, the things that God allowed me to be apart of and to witness were simply amazing.
So we left DFW landed in Atlanta then went on to Manaus, Brazil where we jumped on the boat (like a big 3 story deck boat) and set sail down the Rio Negro. it was about 8 hrs down river to the villages where we were. a typical day started out about 6 am, and we would eat breakfast, then have a devotional time and worship. Then we would pull into a village and unload the medical, dental, optical, and VBS supplies. We would set up the different stations and start the day. It was such an amazing thing, Of course the help that these villagers were getting was a blessing from God, but how God was using these things as simple tools so that the TRUTH of the GOSPEL could be shared was a wonderful thing to witness.
One thing people keep asking me, is what was the biggest difference between the Brazilians and us here in the States? I could have went with simple things like the fact that they had nothing compared to us in way of things, or i could have gone with quality of life, such as not having accsess to clean water, cothing, food, or doctors. But in reality...... i must say that the biggest difference that i saw was FAITH. You may be thinking that " oh ya, we know Christ they dont" but u'd be wrong. The fact is that i saw more Faith in the people of the Amazon River area than in the majority of people that i know here in the states. They may not have known the particulars about how to accept salavtion and how to develop their relationships with Christ but they knew who he was and believed in Him and were so thirsty to hear about Him. When were would speak of Him all would listen with eager hearts. It was such a beautiful thing. The Holy Spirit had been working in this place and it was so ready for the Truth of the Gospel to be heard. The REAL TRUTH of the GOSPEL. the Truth that is Jesus Christ and his unwaivering love for us. its not about what we do or how we act. Its the truth that we can do nothing or say nothing that can earn or way to heaven. Its about his love for us alone that has bridged the gap between us and the Father in heaven. Faith in Christ alone is the key to salvation. Through Christ alone are we made right before God the Father, and can now have a relationship with him.
When they heard this they all wanted it. I never before first had had seen Gods love save someone, let alone been graced by God to lead someone through the prayer of salvation. i am not worthy of that, but again its not if im worthy, because no one is worthy. it was simply God pouring out His love.
i know that ive rambled a lil bit and thats ok its my blog.. but i wish i could sit here and tell in great detail all that occured on the trip but i simple would never be able to convey everything nor would i have the room if i tried. so in parting let me say this. God is at work in this world BELIEVE IT!!! and the people of the Amazon are just as important to our Father and after seeing first hand how God is working in other places... my life is now changed forever. (Gods been doing that alot to me lately, But im moving towards a much more beautiful place)
so thanks again for your support. I love you more than you know.
